ALEXANDER TCHAIKOVSKY

 People's Artist of the Russian Federation.

Composer, pianist, teacher.
Professor, Head of the Department of Composition of the Moscow Conservatory.
Artistic director of the Moscow Philharmonic.

A. Tchaikovsky graduated from the Central Music School piano class of Professor H. Neuhaus, and then the Moscow Conservatoire in two specialties: as a pianist (Lev Naumov's class) and composer (TN Khrennikov's class, who continued his postgraduate studies).
In 1985-1990 was the secretary of the Union of Composers of the USSR for work with creative youth. Since 1977 he teaches at the Moscow Conservatory, since 1994 - professor.

In 1993-2002 he was an advisor to the Mariinsky Theater.

In 2005-2008 - rector of the St. Petersburg Conservatory.
A. Tchaikovsky - winner of the I prize at the International Contest of Composers "Hollybush Festival" (USA). He took part in international music festivals in Schleswig-Holstein (Germany), Prague Spring, Yuri Bashmet Festival in London, International Stars of the White Nights Festival in St. Petersburg, HELL. Sakharov in Nizhny Novgorod, in the International Festival "Kyiv-Fest". In 1988 he was the main composer of the festival in Bad Kissingen (Germany), in 1995 - the festival "Nova Scotia" (Canada). The music of A. Tchaikovsky are performing in the most important concert halls in Russia, Europe, America, Japan. Laureate of the newspaper "Musical Review" in the nomination "Composer of the Year".
The music of A. Tchaikovsky is performed by such outstanding musicians as M. Pletnev, V. Fedoseev, V. Gergiev, M. Jansons, H. Wolf, S. Sondeckis, A. Dmitriev, J. Bashmet, V. Tretyakov, D. Geringas, B. Pergamenshchikov, M. Gantvarg, E. Bronfman, A. Slobodyanik, "Vermeer Quartet", "Terem Quartet", "Fontenay Trio". With the composer collaborated: Mariinsky Theater, Moscow Chamber Music Theater p / u B. Pokrovsky, Moscow Operetta Theater, Children's Musical Theater. N.I. Sats, the Perm Theater of Opera and Ballet, the Opera and Ballet Theater in Bratislava, the St. Petersburg Theater of Musical Comedy.
Almost 30 years devoted A. Tchaikovsky pedagogical activity. Graduates of the composer work in many cities of Russia, in Italy, Austria, England, USA, among them - laureates of the International Tribune of the UNESCO Composer, P. Jurgenson, international composer competitions in Holland and Germany.
A. Tchaikovsky leads an active social activity. In 2002 he became the initiator and artistic director of the music festival "Youth Academies of Russia". The main goal of the festival is the promotion of young composers and performers, the action was supported by the President of the Russian Federation. The composer is a member and chairman of the jury of numerous Russian and international competitions, a member of the Council of the Cultural Forum "Russia-Japan", a member of the Public Board of Directors of Channel I (ORT).
