DMITRY SHISHKIN
Nato nel Chelyabinsk (Russia) nel 1992, è stato avviato all'età di appena 3 anni allo studio del pianoforte dalla madre insegnante e musicista, esibendosi a soli 6 anni in un concerto con orchestra. Fu da allora che la stampa iniziò a definirlo un "prodigio", un talento dalle straordinarie capacità, cosicché nel 2000 fu premiato come " artista dell'anno" a Chelyabinsk, vincitore della nomination " Young Talent".
Dal 2001 al 2010 Dimitry prosegue la sua formazione alla Gnessin Moscow Special School of Music con Mikhail Khokhlov, che lo dirige nel giugno del 2010 in occasione del “Russian Day”, in un concerto tenuto alla Piazza Rossa con l'esecuzione del Concerto n. 1 di Tchaikovsky.
Successivamente ha frequentato il Conservatorio “Tchaikovsky” di Mosca sotto la guida di Eliso Virsaladze.
Dal 2016 studia con Epifanio Comis e frequenta la sua classe presso l’Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali “V. Bellini” di Catania per il conseguimento del biennio accademico.
Dimitry si è fatto ampiamente apprezzare nel circuito delle competizioni pianistiche internazionali più prestigiose, ottenendo nel 2013 il terzo premio al Concorso Internazionale F. Busoni di Bolzano, il secondo premio al Concorso Pianistico Internazionale del Friuli-Venezia Giulia (2014), il sesto premio al XVII° Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition di Varsavia (2015) e il primo premio al Top of the World piano competition di Tromso nel 2017. Inoltre è uno dei laureati dell' edizione 2016 del Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition di Bruxelles.
Nel corso della sua carriera ha tenuto concerti in Russia, Bulgaria, Germania, Iugoslavia, Croazia, Italia, Spagna, Francia, Gran Bretagna, Giappone, Austria, Stati Uniti, Cina e Polonia, esibendosi con le principali orchestre europee quali, la “State Accademic Symphony Orchestra of Russian Federation”, l' Orchestra Sinfonica di Stato di Mosca , la “Saint Petersburg State Cappella Orchestra”, la “Moscow City Symphony " Russian Philharmonic" , la "Musica Viva" Academic Orchestra, i "Virtuosi di Gnessin " Chamber Orchestra, l' Orchestra Filarmonica di Nizhny Novgorod, la Sao Paulo Symphony Orchestra, L'Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano e Trento, la Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, l'Orchestra Nazionale del Belgio la “Russian National Orchestra”, l'Orchestra del Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania. Tra i direttori d'orchestra con cui ha suonato annoveriamo Mark Gorenshtein, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Vladislav Chernushenko, Epifanio Comis, Maxim Fedotov, Alexander Rudin, Marine Alsop, Jacek Kaspszyk, Alexander Sladkovsky e Mikhail Pletnev.
All'intensa attività concertistica affianca anche quella di compositore, ottenendo apprezzamenti di pubblico e di critica. La stampa e le televisioni russe e straniere seguono la sua carriera artistica, mettendo in evidenza le sue straordinarie capacità virtuosistiche ed interpretative al pianoforte.
E'stato ospite del Dubrovnik Summer Festival, dello Chopin Europe Festival di Varsavia, del Kremlin Music e del Festival di Brescia e Bergamo dove si è esibito con la Russian National Orchestra diretta da Mikhail Pletnev.
Gli ultimi impegni lo hanno visto protagonista delle celebrazioni per gli 85 anni del compositore russo Rodion Shchedrin presso la Filarmonica di Mosca accanto a grandi musicisti quali Mikhail Pletnev, Misha Maisky e Valery Gergiev.
Dmitry Shishkin è Artist in Residence della Rachmaninov Society Italia con sede a Catania.

Dmitry Shishkin was born in Chelyabinsk, on the 12th of February, 1992. As soon as he’s learnt to hold upright, Dmitry’s mother, a teacher and a musician, sits him before a piano. Being only a year and a half of age, he played the first pieces of music, but when he was three years old, Dmitriy put on his first concert, and at the age of six he was performing with an orchestra! It was then that the press started calling him a prodigy, “a genius of extraordinary skills”.
Aged four he enters Chelyabinsk special music school of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The little genius was learning the world through music.
In 2000, when Dmitry was barely eight, he was called “Person of the Year” in Chelyabinsk, winning in the “Young Talent” nomination.
2001, aged nine, Dmitry entered Moscow special music school of Gnesiny, began to study with a professor Mikhail Khokhlov and, having finished the piano studies, in 2010 he entered Moscow Conservatory and began to study with a professor Eliso Virsaladze.
Actually he is student of Epifanio Comis at “Vincenzo Bellini” State Conservatory in Catania.
On the 12th of June, 2010, on the Russia Day “Young Russia” concert was held on the Red Square, before the people and its government. Under the baton of the Meritorious Artist of Russia, M. Khokhlov, “Virtuosos of Gnesiny” Orchestra and Dmitriy performed the Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor by P. I. Tchaikovsky.

Today Dmitriy is not only a masterful musician, he is a talented composer as well.
